Privacy Policy

ReadTok ("we", "us", the "App") is a story-reading application. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights. The App is intended for users aged 13 and older.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: email address and display name when you sign up (email, Google, or Apple sign-in). With Apple sign-in you may use Apple's Hide-My-Email.
• Reading activity: reading progress, bookmarks, completed stories, reading time, and coins/rewards earned in the App.
• Purchases: subscription and in-app purchase status (processed by Apple/Google and RevenueCat; we never receive your card details).
• Device & usage data: device model, OS version, app version, crash diagnostics, and analytics events (e.g. stories viewed, chapters read) used to improve the App.
• Advertising identifier (iOS): only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission; you can decline or revoke this in iOS Settings.
• Push token: to deliver notifications you opt into.

2. How we use it

To provide and sync your account and reading progress across devices, process subscriptions, send notifications you enable, fix crashes, measure and improve engagement, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Service providers we share with

• Supabase — database, authentication, and storage (your account and reading data).
• Google Firebase — Analytics, Crashlytics (crash reporting), and Cloud Messaging (push).
• RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription and purchase processing.
• Google & Apple — sign-in, when you choose those methods.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Analytics & children (COPPA)

The App is not directed to children under 13. Analytics collection is disabled until a user confirms they are 13 or older through our in-app age gate. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

5. Your rights & choices

• Delete your account and data at any time in the App (Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes your account and associated data from our servers.
• Access / export / correct your data by contacting us.
• Residents of the EEA/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) have rights to access, delete, and object to processing; we honor verified requests.
• Disable analytics tracking (iOS) via Settings → Privacy → Tracking, and notifications via your device settings.

6. Data retention & security

We retain your data while your account is active and delete it upon account deletion (some records may persist briefly in backups/logs). We use HTTPS in transit and provider-side encryption at rest. No method is 100% secure.

7. Mature content

The App contains fiction with mature themes and explicit language intended for adult/older audiences. By using the App you confirm you are of appropriate age for such content in your jurisdiction.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
